Lagos, Nigeria – September, 10th 2018 – VoguePay has been selected by the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, as one of the 6 startups to fly Nigeria’s flag at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Telecom World 2018 in Durban, South Africa.
The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, selected VoguePay and 5 other startups to fly Nigeria’s flag at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Telecom World 2018. The event, holding in Durban, South Africa is a gathering of the leading influential figures from government, corporate bodies and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to accelerate ICT innovation, explore partnership solutions and investment opportunities.
The theme for this year’s event is “Innovation for Smarter Digital Development”.
VoguePay will fly Nigeria’s flag as one of the 6 startups to exhibit in the Nigeria pavilion at the event. Michael Simeon, CEO of Voguepay commended NCC for the selection process. He noted that VoguePay will do the country proud at the event and use the opportunity to showcase its innovative , secure payment processing solution to a global audience and pull them in to do business in Africa.
The director of business development of VoguePay, Mohammed Ibrahim Jega will be part of the startups delegation that comprise VoguePay, Farmcrowdy, Prepclass, Dropque, Wesabi and Zenafri.
They will join the Nigerian delegation led by Communications Minister, Chief Abdulraheem Adebayo Shittu; the Chairman of NCC Board, Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye; Nigeria’s Chief Telecoms Regulator and Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta.
