Creating payment page for PIN dispensing and downloadable digital products

If you are selling a digital product it is easy to use VoguePay to instantly give download access to your users immediately after payment. 

You can upload the digital content you want to sell to any hosting services of your choice, like Google Drive, DropBox, Box, Amazon Web Services or even host the files on your own server while you set up payment and product delivery with VoguePay. VoguePay’s product delivery management will encrypt the product URL so it can only be accessed after successful payment has been received from the buyer.

Types of digital products you can sell

VoguePay has a solution for merchants who sells pin dispensing products and downloadable digital products.

On VoguePay, you can sell your pin dispensing products like recharge cards, scratch cards and other PIN-related products. You can also sell products that will be downloadable immediately after payment, like ebooks, songs etc.

Step 1: Set up how you will manage delivery of the downloadable content you want to sell.

This applies if your product is a downloadable digital product like ebook, songs etc. Follow the step 2 below:

  • Login to your VoguePay account
  • Click on Business Solution and choose “create downloadables”

  1. Product name: This is the name you give to the product. This name is visible to your buyers.
  2. Price: This is how much the product cost (no need to put currency and should be written together, i.e:1000, not 1,000)
  3. Maximum downloads: This is the limit to the number of times you want the buyer to be able to download products.
  4. Product download URL: This is the actual link where the product is uploaded. (If your product URL page requires your buyer to take a second action before the product can be downloaded, it may not work and your buyers will not be able to get access to the product they paid for)
  5. Email Subject: This is the subject of the email your buyers get to notify them to download the product they paid for. This can look like this, ” Here is the link to product ABC you paid for”
  6. Email message: This is the body of the email message your buyers get that includes the link to the product they purchased. Please note that when composing an email message to be sent to the buyer, the parameter {{PRODUCT}} should be used to denote where the download link would appear.

Below is an example of the email message.

Dear BUYER,

Thank you for purchasing product ABC from me. This is the best product where you can learn how to play Guitar in 30 minutes. To download your product, visit {{PRODUCT}}

Yours sincerely,

   7. Expiry date: This is the date when the download link will stop working and buyer will no longer be able        to access the product via the link any longer. You can use this to limit their access level.

  8. Add downloadable: This is the button you click to add the download files to VoguePay product                  management system.

All the downloadable links you generated can be accessed and managed from your dashboard, in the Business Solutions section.

To create payment link for the digital download you have created, go to the “downloadable product” tab and click on “get” code for the product.

Step 2: Set up how you will manage delivery of the PINs that you want to sell.

This step applies if you are selling PIN-related products. Below are the steps the take to manage delivery for PIN products:

  • Login to your VoguePay account
  • Click on Business Solution and choose “create purchase PINs”.

 Provide the following information to add your PIN category

  • Product name: This is the name of the product e.g TOEFL scratch card.
  • PIN Amount: This is the number of PINs you have available for sale.
  • Notify me when PINs are less than: This is the lowest amount of unsold PINs before you refill.  You can input any number here to serve as reminder (our system will send you a notice when this threshold is reached to recommend that you add new sets)
  • Email Subject: This is the subject of the email your buyers get to notify them to download the PIN product they paid for. This can look like this, ” Here is your PIN for TOEFL registration”
  • Email message: This is the body of the email message your buyers get that includes the link to the product they purchased. Please note that when composing an email message to be sent to the buyer, the parameter {{PRODUCT}} should be used to denote where the download link would appear.

Below is an example of the email message.

Dear BUYER,

Thank you for your purchase. Here is your PIN for TOEFL registration. To download your PIN, visit {{PRODUCT}}

Yours sincerely,

  • The next step is to add the PINs to the category you have created.

There are two ways to achieve this. You can upload in bulk or add the PINs individually.

  • You can see all the PINs vouchers you have uploaded with an option to edit. When you click on the pencil icon, under the “actions” label, you can delete the PIN or change the details.

All the PIN categories you generated can be accessed and managed from your dashboard, in the Business Solutions section. This is where you create payment link for the PINs you have created.

To proceed go to the “PIN products” tab and click on “get” code for the particular product.

Step 3: Create the payment link for the PIN or downloadable product.

To complete the process, you need to add payment link/button in order for people to be able to pay for the product. To do that, click on the yellow “get code” button.

It will display the payment button generation page (the page is pre-filled with the info you have provided during the product download creation)

  • For downloadable product, you will be required to “select button properties” while for PIN product, you will be required to “enter button label”. Other fields are optional before you generate your payment code which you can paste to your webpage where you want your button to appear.

When you click to generate payment code, you will see this pop with code which you can copy in order to paste to your webpage where you want your button to appear.

NOTE: For testing purposes, you can copy the code and paste it to a notepad file (saved with html extension i.e .html). You can then open the file in your browser to test the payment page.

Below is how the PIN management code I created looks like. When user purchase, the system automatically handles the delivery of the product.
